Water Purifying Stick
Enjoy pure-tasting water with all-natural purifying charcoal stick. They are a great biodegradable alternative to plastic filters.
This is a premium activated charcoal made from 100% Ubame Oak and has been revered in Japan for centuries as a natural air and water purifier. It possesses powerful water purification properties that draw impurities out of tap water while releasing beneficial minerals, such as calcium, mercury, magnesium, and phosphate. Say goodbye to plastic water filters that leech harmful chemicals! Made in Japan.
Binchotan Charcoal is known as the highest quality charcoal for purifying water. Traditionally made for over 300 years by charcoal makers in Wakayama, Japan, it is sustainably harvested and activated through extremely high burning temperatures along with a rapid cooling process, resulting in countless microscopic cavities that help adsorb heavy metals and impurities in water. This pure charcoal also mineralizes water by releasing calcium, mercury, magnesium and phosphate.
Step 1: The charcoal will be dusty when you take it out of the packaging. Give it a light rinse and brush off any excess ash.
Step 2: Transfer the charcoal to a pot of water and boil for 10 minutes. Drain the water and allow charcoal to cool completely.
Step 3: Fill your favorite container or bottle with water and place the cool charcoal inside. During this time the charcoal will adsorb the impurities in the water. For best results, let charcoal work its magic for at least 2-3 hours before drinking. The longer, the better!
Step 4: Feel free to leave the charcoal in the container and refill water as necessary. The charcoal will continue to work for 2 to 3 weeks until it needs to be reactivated. Reboiling the stick helps keep the exterior pores open, allowing for continuous use as a filter.
Step 5: Reactivating the charcoal is simple. Boil it for 10 minutes, let it cool, and it's ready to go!
To get the full benefits of the charcoal, replace after 4 months or once the charcoal stops releasing air bubbles during the reboiling process.
Once the stick has reached its capacity as a water purifier, it can be used as an indoor air purifier, closet & fridge deodorizer, or compost for the garden.
