Thick organic terry cotton is not easy to find! I first purchased these because of their rarity and beauty!!! I brought them to the co-op to use as reusable bags for herbs, leafy greens and vegetables. Wetting the bag when I got home meant long-lasting purchases! Hurray!!!

-100% organic french terry cotton

-grown by the Texas Organic Cotton Marketing Cooperative

-hand sewn by employee-owned Opportunity Threads, in Valdese, North Carolina

-undyed, unbleached

Vegetables are living things just like cut flowers! They need humidity and cool temperatures to stay vibrant and alive. The bag's slightly moist environment keeps vegetables crispy far longer than a plastic bag.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: 1. wet and wring so that it is just damp 2. Rinse vegetables, remove damaged areas, and gently shake off any excess water. If you're washing lettuces or greens, there's no need to spin. Let your bag do the work! 3. Store in the main compartment of your refrigerator or in a slightly opened crisper drawer. When the bag dries out after several days, re-wet slightly by running it briefly under the faucet, vegetables and all.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Turn bags inside out and launder with fragrance-free detergent. Hang in the sun to dry or use a machine, 10% shrinkage the first time washing 100% cotton!

To remove stains make an environmentally-friendly stain remover solution with 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 2 Tablespoons of washing soda. Add enough hot water to the hydrogen peroxide/washing soda solution to cover and let sit 24 hours.
