After all of the reading and research, I knew that many pilgrims have made significant connections with people while walking the Camino. As departure time approached, I was so excited that I had spent the past five months exhaustively making all of my preparations so that now I was free to just walk and enjoy every moment of the experience. This is exactly what happened! From the moment I arrived in CDG Airport in Paris, I held sacred every person I encountered. I fell madly and deeply in love with every airport employee, hotel concierge, artisan, shop owner, museum guard, bus driver, albergue owner/volunteer, and all of the people on the Camino. Even if I did not ever speak to them, I felt a deep bond of sharing all of the same miraculous Camino steps. There really are no words to describe it, but I felt as though I would “take a bullet” for all of my fellow pilgrims. To share in this divine experience is a miracle I will take with me always.
